Termite Infestation

Is your home at risk of a termite infestation?

 What you should know:

Termites can cause major structural damage to homes and other buildings. People usually only see termites inside when an infestation is already well established. You may also find termites on the exterior of the home around dead tree stumps, rotting boards or other detritus. Termite colonies are divided into different classes, and most termites only come out in the dark. The most common class that you will see outside of the colony is the alate class, or winged termites. Winged termites are a reproductive class and they swarm before they mate. You can identify termites through their body shape, legs and wings. Many homeowners mistake termites for flying ants. If you live in Hampton Roads, it can happen to you! Don't take a chance, let Universal Pest & Termite handle your termite control needs.

I have an termite infestation, what now?

You had your home inspected by Universal, and yes, it is termites. What is your course of action now? Worry not, Universal's fully trained staff knows what your home's treatment should entail to rid your infestation. A soil treatment is a traditional method for treating termites. This has been used successfully for many decades. It requires a direct application of the termite treatment material into the soil around the entire exterior perimeter of your home.
Benefits of soil treatment by Universal:
Less disruptive – Significantly less intrusion and aesthetic disruption (i.e. moving furniture, removing carpet, drilling of finished floors, dust) inside your home.
More environmentally friendly – The Universal Pest & Termite's application of material is localized to strategic areas which reduce the total amount of material used.

How do I protect my home from termite damage in the future?

If, in between your services, you need any additional services, your technician will return at no charge. This program includes our standard termite warranty.
Benefits of the Flex-Guard Program:
Less Material Used – This allows a termite service without using hundreds of gallons of liquid termiticide.
Complete Protection – No need to worry about different pest invaders. This program offers complete protection with one convenient visit and one low service fee. Termites, ants, roaches, rodents and much more.
